Bohemian Homes

Open spaces, batik and aztec print along with rows and rows of books. I could spend hours scrolling through this tumblr dedicated to bohemian-style interiors.

Pyramid Video

Perfection. Frank Ocean has created the most perfect imagery to match the wonderful song that is Pyramid. BOOM.
Oh! Guess who likes French again? I had been feeling like I hit a brick wall with French recently but I've decided that I'm going to be alrighty, it was just a bit of a shock going from AS to A2. Especially when there's a fair few people in the year above who are practically natives. I have a feeling the return of the French assistant Richard may have something to do with my sudden enthusiasm though. Babe.

Frothers

Ever since I began watching Bondi Rescue I have been fascinated by surf photography. Mainly because one day I plan to ride a wave. Right on. Seen as I don't live remotely close to the ocean, these images from frothers are the next best thing.
How perfect would it be to live by the ocean and be able to use the sea as your personal playground? One of my travelling ambitions is to visit Bondi Beach (as well as Bronte, Tamarama and Maroubra) in Sydney, Australia to learn how to surf...and of course to see the Waverley Council Lifeguards. Jesse, the latest trainee, is my favourite. Yewwww.

Matt Corby

I have just ordered two tickets to see Matt Corby's November 'Into The Flame' tour. My excitement levels are sky high right now. His song 'Brother' was (finally) played on Radio 1 two day ago so things seem to be going well for the curly haired Australian that just so happens to have the most gorgeous voice and the ability to play both the guitar and piano. If his Secret garden shows are anything to go by, I am in for a delightful time when I see him perform in November.
You have no idea how much would love to be sat in a Garden dusted with fairy lights, listening to the beautiful sounds of Matt Corby.

'Films To See' List

ON THE ROAD
"The only people that interest me are the mad ones, the ones who are mad to live, mad to talk, desirous of everything at the same time, the ones that never yawn or say a commonplace thing but burn, burn, burn like roman candles across the night"
I read Jack Kerouac's novel On The Road this summer just so I could have my own interpretation before the film arrives. As a a defining work of the Beat generation, it follows the story of Sal Paradise and Dean Moriarty as they travel across America looking for 'it', who are inspired by everything they come across. With Kristen Stewart, Sam Riley and Garret Hedlund starring, I've got a feeling that this will be a good 'un.

LAWLESS
"I'm a Bondurant...we don't  lay down for nobody."
Shia LaBefouf and Tom Hardy are in this film. Need I say more? Set in Franklin, Virginia during the era of the Great Depression, Lawless follows the three Bondurant brothers who take pride in their gangster image. As other well dressed but terribly violent gangsters chase the outlaws, shooting, slashing and rape ensue. With a host of powerful actors, it looks like a great action movie.

SAVAGES
"You let people think you're weak, sooner or later you're going to have to kill them"
I saw the trailer for this on my last trip to the cinema. Although it isn't my usual comedy film that I would watch, it looks like a really good, gritty film that only uses the violence when necessary as opposed to using it purely for the gore. Blake Lively plays Ophelia ("O") who has two boyfriends, who are coincidently best friends, with a successful marijuana growing empire. The film is set to hit a climax when violent Mexican drug cartels plan to partner with the two men against their will.

Good picks? What films are you excited to see?

YMCMB @ MTV VMA's 2012

The coolest kids in the business.
I'm really into Lil Wayne at the moment...I always have the unconventional crushes. Maybe it's the tattoos, maybe it's the dreads, or maybe it's because he was sat throughout the event listening to music on his headphones. The coolest.

Round Up: As much as I don't enjoy cheesy pop songs, I love seeing the reactions and losing faces of the artists. Amongst the night's performers was Rihanna doing a combination of Cockiness and We Found Love, One Direction being their perfect boyband selves (much to the dismay of The Wanted) and the beautiful Frank Ocean singing Thinking Bout You with the stage setting resembling a starry night by the campfire. Calvin Harris was the house DJ, he's looking rather good these days. However, Rihanna seemed to forget to mention him when We Found Love won Video Of The Year...nonetheless I am so glad that the video got the recognition it deserved. Where the winners are concerned, I was a little disappointed that Frank Ocean didn't win Best New Artist. I don't mean to be judgemental but I feel like One Direction won purely because of their legion of fans. They are my guilty pleasure but Frank Ocean is just so good.

Suave Like Sauve

    Sebastian Sauve
More often than not, the boys that attract my eye have dark hair, blue eyes and a host of endearing tattoos; think Cole Mohr, Jimmy Q and Ash Stymest. So I was refreshed to see a picture of American-German model Sebastian Sauve with his sunkissed hair, prominent pout and clear blue eyes. Oh, he's got skills too.

Shia

I was pleasantly surprised when I read an article in this morning's Sunday Times magazine based on an interview with Shia LaBeouf. The way the actor presented himself sat in a low-key pancakes-and-eggs joint whilst wearing a ripped t-shirt and pulling on a cigarette, the aura he emitted when expressing his views so passionately and philosophically about his job, ethics and background, I found myself falling for him the more I continued to read. Plus, the feature image of him looking smoulderingly good didn't do anything to deter this opinion.
The extracted quote about Shia 'letting his hair down' reminds me of the characters in On The Road, the ones who are mad to live. I love the last one too, about him having space to plant his feet into a project and just experience it. I felt the same way when I was on my expedition and purposely didn't have any contact with home.
It's wonderful that we also have the same views on marriage, I'll be ready and waiting Shia.
